International Women’s Day Events 2020…FBC Recommends
INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY IS COMING UP ON SUNDAY 8TH MARCH, AND DID YOU KNOW THE WHOLE OF MARCH IS ALSO WOMEN’S HISTORY MONTH?
We’ve put together some of the events and activities going on in Liverpool this year – get out your diaries now!
Friday 6th March – 8am – Siren, 54 St James Street
The launch of ‘One Day’ A report in response to the Liverpool City Region Industrial Strategy from a women’s perspective, using gender equality to drive economic development – we’re behind this all the way!
Friday 6th March – 9.30am – The Women’s Organisation
Two of the Norths biggest advocates for women – The Women’s Organisation and Northern Power Women are joining forces to host an inspiring panel of speakers to discuss how real change can be made to tackle gender inequality.
Saturday 7th March – 6.30pm – Chapter of Us
An evening of empowering creativity with Cut Out Collage, led by artist Catherine Rogers
– Out the Attic –
Sunday 8th March – All Day
Out the Attic, a theatre company who give voices to women and those underrepresented through history, are hosting a whole day of activities. Including an arts market and their Storyteller Social , showcasing work from female creatives and companies.

Wednesday 11th March – 8am – Avenue HQ St Paul’s Square
With some top guest speakers from the likes of big organisations Hays Recruitment and Liverpool City Council this free seminar (part of the University of Liverpool’s Business Breakfast series) promises to offer ‘valuable insights, practical recommendations and discussion on inclusive workplace practices’
Wednesday 11th March – 6pm – Blackburne House
BBC Radio presenter, producer and media expert Ngunan Adamu will be in conversation with CEO of Blackburne House, Claire Dove, an opportunity to hear her inspiring career journey and experience of leading a successful social enterprise.
Blackburne House also has a whole month of events worth checking out from film screenings to a Women’s History Walk
Thursday 12th March – 6pm – Tusk Baltic
Of course we can’t miss our own IWD celebrations! Our big birthday quiz is back with the Quiz of Decade, celebrating feminist icons, moments and achievements of the last decade. Tickets available now!
